Whoop, whoop! Last night, the New York Knicks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, thereby winning their NBA first-round playoff series, 4 games to 2, just as I had predicted.
I give credit to the 76ers. Last year’s MVP, Joel Embiid, performed valiantly with his surgically-reconstructed left knee still giving him major problems. He shouldn’t have been playing. Tyrese Maxey was a dominant force throughout this series.
The Knicks? Josh Hart F, OG Anunoby F, Isiah Hartenstein C, Donte DiVincenzo G, Mitch Robinson C, Deuce McBride G, Bojan Bogdanovic F, and Precious Achiuwa F all contributed to the series win, but it was All-Star PG, Jalen Brunson, who carried the team, averaging a ridiculous 35.5 PPG.
By clinching the series against the 76ers, the #2 seed Knicks advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals against Tyrese Haliburton and the #6 seed Indiana Pacers, who beat the Milwaukee Bucks in their series.
Below is the released schedule for the first four games of the semifinal series:
Game 1 – Knicks vs. Pacers, Monday, May 6, 7:30 PM
Game 2 – Knicks vs. Pacers, Wednesday, May 8, 8:00 PM
Game 3 – Knicks @ Pacers, Friday, May 10, 7:00 PM
Game 4 – Knicks @ Pacers, Sunday, May 12, 3:30 PM
Go NY, Go NY, GO!
